I'm a big Amazon guy and came across this book while searching for journal techniques as I have a very good friend who uses this approach and has had extremely positive results. So I decided to order this book and I'm glad I did.

First off the book is very easy to read and structured in such a way where you want to continue reading it. The text in the book is not so small where you start to panic and put down the book thinking you'll finish it 28 years from the day you started. After reading through the first couple of chapters, I decided to not continue with reading the book and started using the techniques I learned in the chapters I read. I then did this for one week and then picked up the book and read the next few chapter. I repeated this cycle over the course of month until I finished the book. What I really liked about the book (among other things) is that the chapters go relatively fast, you get good examples, and then the author provides you with very easy to follow exercises. Let me state that although the exercise steps are 'simple', the author does encourage you to really think about what you're doing so it's not so much a "hurry up and get it done" exercise but a more reflective and thought provoking exercise. I have stayed true to the premise of the book where you should turn journaling into a fun and insightful exercise that should not be mundane or repetitive.

I have and will continue to use the techniques called out in this book to both reflect on what happens during the day/week and will then turn this into action to make small changes to my personal and professional life. Net is that I love the book as it was very effective in what I wanted from it... what else could someone want (besides a speedboat)?

Write To Heal Project Debbie Rae Triplett Dennis Laycock Dr David Mann PHD Dr Chad Corbley PHD Books Reviews

LOVED the book! This book is clear and easy to read along with being well organized. Those that are new to journaling will find lots of helpful tools that will make the practice of journaling easier. A must read for anyone looking to deepen their journaling experience or just begin one.
This book was very helpful and a awesome guide to understanding how to get past the wounds through a journal. Today I continue to read Write to Heal Project because it has helped me gain knowledge of who I really am and to go through life knowing that there is a way to heal and get through whatever it is. I continue to journal weekly, which until I read this book I never did journal and find it amazing. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone and everyone. I love this book and would recommend it to anyone and everyone!
This is a very helpful, guiding book on how to learn to journal through life! It has wonderful examples and is very encouraging to everyone. I found it to boost my confidence about journaling, and it helped me understand myself even more! An added bonus is that is helps a wonderful and much needed foundation!
Great transaction, no problems
I just finished reading this book and am very impressed. It is very well done considering the challenge of the topic. It is written for use by all levels of readers and writers (I consider myself an advanced reader, but a novice journal writer). At first the read felt a bit simple but as I continued to work through the concepts of each section, I recognized the power of the organization and instruction provided with each Journal Tool (as they are called in the book). What was most helpful to me was seeing examples of the author's journal writing. I have never seen anyone's journal entries like this.

So, I assume if you are reading this review, you are looking for ways to get through a difficult path in your life or help someone else through a difficult path. My difficult path is breast cancer. I am now going on 10 years out and have been searching for ways to continue to "heal" my person and get back my person BC (before cancer). I am always swimming in an ocean of emotion and thoughts and at times feel like I am drowning.

A close friend recommended I look at this book. While its story is different than mine, it still provides a structure and tools that may help me continue to heal inside and grab my person back. I have never been one to regularly keep a journal, but now that may change (In fact, I am going to B&N to buy my journal today).

Please Note that I do not typically write reviews in (I do on good reads though)...however as with my sharing of my BC story with anyone who wants to know more my hope is that my sharing can help at least one person. That is why I am leaving a real review for this book.

Good luck in your journey --
